SEATTLE, WA – Pioneer Square will host its first-ever Summer Market & Music Festival on June 10th, 2023 from 11am-6pm. The free festival will take place in Occidental Square and feature local artists, makers, and musicians.
“The goal of this event is to bring the community together and promote Pioneer Square” said Lloyd Gregory, event coordinator. “Pioneer Square has gotten a bad rap over the years so we want to change the narrative and create a sense of pride among Seattle residents for this beautiful, historic neighborhood.”
The event will feature a variety of local musicians, makers, vintage resellers, and more. Visitors can expect to see a range of handmade crafts, art, clothing, and gifts. Emerald City Guitars will also be on hand, clearing out some of their inventory of vintage guitars and gear.
“We’re excited to bring together some of the best local musicians, makers, and area businesses to create a truly special event for Seattle,” said Gregory. “It seemed like every other neighborhood had a block party, we wanted Pioneer Square to have one too.”
The Pioneer Square Summer Market & Music Festival is being organized by a group of local volunteers, with major support from the Pioneer Square Business Improvement Area fund. Business sponsors include Rubicon Point Partners (Gold), Locus Wines and Martin Smith, Inc. (Silver) and Bon Voyage Vintage, Back Alley Bike Repair, The Home Skillit and The Good Bar (Bronze).
“It was important for us to get the property owners involved so we can’t thank Rubicon Point Partners and Martin Smith, Inc. enough for stepping up to the plate,” Gregory said. “The other sponsors have been involved from the beginning but to have major property owners support it means it’s something that can last.”
