SEATTLE, WA – The Pioneer Square Summer Market & Music Festival is calling upon history enthusiasts and individuals with a flair for the dramatic to participate as volunteer actors, bringing the rich history of Seattle to life. We are seeking individuals to dress up as iconic figures from Seattle’s past and interact with attendees at the festival.
Do you have a passion for storytelling and want to transport visitors back in time? This is your chance to step into the shoes and in front of the buildings built by or named after influential figures such as Doc Maynard, Henry Yesler, William Grose, Madame Damnable, or Lou Graham. Share the stories behind the names in the places they happened.
Volunteers will have the opportunity to engage with festival-goers, providing fascinating historical insights and creating a truly immersive experience. Whether you have experience in theater, historical reenactments, or simply a deep love for Seattle’s heritage, we welcome your participation.
Responsibilities:
– Dress up in appropriate historic garb representing your chosen character
– Interact with visitors, engaging them in conversation and sharing interesting anecdotes about the character’s life and their role in Seattle’s history
– Pose for photos and create memorable experiences for attendees
– Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor throughout the event
No prior acting experience is required, but a genuine interest in Seattle’s history and a passion for storytelling are highly desirable. Volunteers must be available to commit to the event on June 10th from 11am to 2pm.
